D & Bow Shackles

Shackles are essentially ‘mechanical joints’ comprising a body and pin which are readily separable and can be used to connect a load to a lifting machine directly or in conjunction with other lifting accessories. Shackles are the joints of choice in all manner of rigging systems, from boats and ships to industrial crane rigging. We offer Chain D Shackles 0.5ton to 55tons and Anchor Bow Shackles from 0.33ton to 150tons in ready stock. There are two variants namely Screw pin type and Nut/bolt with pin; Screw pin shackles are used mainly for non-permanent applications and Nut/bolt with pin shackles are used for long-term or permanent applications or where the load may slide on the pin causing rotation of the pin.
