CHAIN SHORTNERS

  Often when chain slings are used on a project site, the site engineer may need different lengths of sling for different jobs, if a suitable chain shortener is provided then the same sling can be adjusted for length at the site itself, making it easy and time saving. When the load is not a balanced load, a chain shortener is used to achieve load control by adjusting the length of sling leg.There are several methods of chain shortening namely with Clevis Claw Hook, Grab hook and Double End Claw. The Double End Claw keeps the sling light and easy to handle hence the most preferred method. The Grab hook is used for both shortening and in the choking application.
